Aflas® (FEPM)
- Resists oils, lubricants and some fuels.
- Suitable for sour (H2S) gas, amines or high temperature water/steam.
- Our AF69/90 grade is formulated for rapid gas decompression resistance.

|
Butyl (IIR)
- Very low gas permeability.
- Suitable for vacuum and high pressure applications.
- Must not be used with mineral oils.

|
|
Chloroprene (CR)
- General purpose elastomer, usually known as neoprene.
- Suitable for use with many media.
- Largely unaffected by sunlight and atmospheric ageing.

|
|
Chlorosulphonyl polyethylene (CSM)
- Excellent resistance to weathering.
- Gives good service with many media on static sealing duties.
- Suited mainly to static sealing duties.

DuPont™ Kalrez® (FFKM)
- Perfluoroelastomer compounds with almost universal chemical resistance.
- Specific grades operate at up to 325°C.
- James Walker is authorised distributor for DuPont™ Kalrez® items used for fluid sealing and handling duties.

- Good resistance to mineral oils, fuels and ozone.
- Sealing applications limited by corrosive properties and poor compression set resistance.

Ethylene-propylene (EPM/EPDM)
- Excellent resistance to weathering, ozone, water and steam.
- 'O' rings in EP62 range are approved for potable water duties.
- Stocked 'O' ring grade: EP18/H/75.

Fluolion® (PTFE)
- Polytetrafluoroethylene has outstanding resistance to virtually all media.
- Excellent material for 'O' ring back-up rings.
- Flow characteristics limit its use for 'O' ring seals.

- Resistant to hydrocarbon oils, petroleum fuels and mineral-based hydraulic fluids.

Natural rubber (NR)
- High strength with good abrasion resistance.
- Suitable for use with hot/cold water, ammonia, ethylene glycol, dilute acids and alkalis.
- Synthetic rubbers have superior resistance to heat, weathering and oils.

|
Nitrile (NBR)
- We have a vast range of compounds based on various acrylonitrile/butadiene ratios.
- Stocked 'O' ring grade: PB80, for use with mineral oils - especially hydraulic fluids - water and some solvents.
- Our Proteus grade is generally suitable for aqueous food applications.

|
Polyurethane (AU/EU)
- Good mechanical properties - often used for drive transmissions.
- Excellent resistance to weathering.
- Good resistance to hydrocarbon fuels and mineral oils.
- Sealing duties limited by stress relaxation above +50°C.

|
Silicone (VMQ)
- Good resistance to heat, weathering and compression set.
- Excellent electrical resistance.
- Sealing duties limited by high gas permeability, low tensile strength and poor resistance to tear and abrasion.
- Stocked 'O' ring grade: SIL 80/2.
